The Auburn Socials were an independent professional football team in the year 1910. Most of the information about the team has been lost in time. The team played home games in Auburn, Illinois. The teams first game was against the Decatur Socials in a scoreless tie at League Park in Decatur, Illinois. Two weeks later the Auburn Socials lost 11-0 against the Peoria Socials at Lake View Park in Peoria, Illinois. The Auburn Socials at home a couple weeks later got shutout 21-0 against the Springfield Socials. The game the following week is lost in history, the score seems to be lost or possibly the game was cancelled but it is unsure if the Auburn Socials played the Staunton Socials in Carlinville, Illinois. Then at home the Auburn Socials played against the Decatur Socials again where Auburn won 15-0 at home. This seems to be the last game the team played but most of the team's history has been lost.
Pro Football Historian (PFH) is a blog page written by Flint Given. Pro Football Historian or PFH is a page to inform people on prior NFL events that people might not know about. Learning about teams from the 1920s or even the first few NFL World Championships in the 1930s fascinates me. It's these kinds of events that I want to discuss in this blog. Hopefully you are interested and will continue to check up on my blogs.
