Pro Football Historian (PFH) is a blog page written by Flint Given. Pro Football Historian or PFH is a page to inform people on prior NFL events that people might not know about. Learning about teams from the 1920s or even the first few NFL World Championships in the 1930s fascinates me. It's these kinds of events that I want to discuss in this blog. Hopefully you are interested and will continue to check up on my blogs.

Who Were The Alexandria Tigers?
The Alexandria Tigers existed between 1909-1928. In the 17 years of existence the team went 26-50-7. The team scored 548 points while giving up 1627 points in the 17 seasons of play. The team played home games in Alexandria, Indiana at West Side Park. In 1909, their first year the team played one game and lost 11-6 to the Newcastle Maxwell-Briscoes. The team followed that season up playing nine games scoring only 23 points and surrendering 38 points on the season in 1910 resulting in a 4-2-3 record. In the next eight seasons, the team only won three games. In 1919, the team had their best record up to this point with a 5-4 record and scoring 135 points while surrendering 125 points. The team wouldn't have much more success but in 1924 the Alexandria Tigers went 6-0 only surrendering 10 points and scoring 115 points. The Tigers lost a 46-0 in their final game before folding in 1928.
