Who Were The Adrian Lincoln Lifes?

The Adrian Lincoln Lifes existed as an amateur team from circa 1920-1924, there are documented games from these years. Much of their history is lost but they were a pretty good amateur team during their history.

In 1921, they opened up at home at the Maple Avenue Grounds in Adrian, Michigan. The score was a 7-7 tie against the Toledo Norwoods. The following was 16-2 win at home against the Chelsea Independents. The third game was against the Fort Wayne Friars which the Friars won 10-7 at League Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Lifes followed up the lost winning two games giving up zero points. The wins were against Bryna (Ohio) and the Toledo Gazorums. The Detroit Maroons at Mack Park would defeat the Lifes 20-7. The Lifes would end the 1921 season winning their final five games. All games were at home during that stretch.

The 1922 season would not go as well with the team winning four of nine games. During this season home games were at Franklin Park.  They won 21-0 against the Toledo East End Merchants and followed that up winning 51-0 against Manchester (Michigan). The Lifes lost 21-0 to the Lansing Durant Stars but defeated the Fort Wayne Pyramids 15-0 the following week. The team lost four of the next five only defeating the Toledo Smile Bottlers 26-0.
