Windber was an independent football team in 1920 that played home games at Windber, Pennsylvania. The team played only four regular season games. The first of which was played on October 17, 1920 against Altoona Techs in Windber, where the Windber football team won 13-0. Windber would then travel to Altoona, Pennsylvania to Cricket Field on October 23, 1920. The game resulted in a scoreless tie against the Altoona Techs. On October 31, 1920 the South Fork Olympics traveled to Windber where the Olympics lost 7-0 to Windber with reportedly 2000 in attendance. In the last game of the season the Windber football team traveled to McKeesport, Pennsylvania to play McKeesport Olympics at Cycler Park on November 13, 1920. Windber lost 7-0 to the McKeesport Olympics.
Pro Football Historian (PFH) is a blog page written by Flint Given. Pro Football Historian or PFH is a page to inform people on prior NFL events that people might not know about. Learning about teams from the 1920s or even the first few NFL World Championships in the 1930s fascinates me. It's these kinds of events that I want to discuss in this blog. Hopefully you are interested and will continue to check up on my blogs.
